Source: CCTV news (news broadcast): Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, investigated at the 2024 Beijing International Automobile Exhibition on April 28. Li Qiang visited the exhibition areas of brands such as Dongfeng, BYD, Zhiji, Jiyue, BMW, Geely, Xiaomi, Celes, and Xiaopeng to inspect the exhibited models and technology displays.
Li Qiang stated that China's intelligent connected new energy vehicles have formed a leading advantage in market competition and open cooperation, and we need to continue to work hard to maintain and develop our advantages. He pointed out that today's automotive products are very different from the past, and are no longer just a simple means of transportation. Intelligent connected new energy vehicles can be regarded as a "big terminal" that integrates multiple technologies such as mechanical, electronic, computing, perception, audio-visual, and energy storage, becoming the main direction for the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry. We hope that the majority of automotive companies will take innovation as the driving force, demand as the guide, and quality as the foundation, accelerate the research and development of key core technologies, strengthen forward-looking technology research and development layout, and promote the continuous improvement and upgrading of the automotive industry.
Li Qiang emphasized that both China and the global new energy vehicle market are continuously growing. China will further promote the construction of a unified national market, expand high-level opening up to the outside world, treat domestic and foreign enterprises equally, promote wider exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and foreign automotive enterprises, and achieve common development and mutual benefit.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is carrying out a new round of large-scale equipment updates and exchanging old for new consumer goods. To better leverage the driving role of the automotive industry in expanding investment and promoting consumption, implement policies to support purchase and use, and unleash the consumption potential of commodities such as automobiles to a greater extent.
Wu Zhenglong participated in the research.
